I've recently realized that it matters who teaches a lecture, it's not only up to students to learn, learn and learn... I happen to like computer networks and everything about them... But I have a teacher for security and engineering of computer networks. He may know a lot he may have published a great deal of books... I cannot understand him and I am not the only one in my class.
I am lucky I stumbled upon a great book on computer networks. It seems like a story and it is very well explained. Sometimes it is funny and a pleasure to read it.
So you see it depends on who the teacher is. You may like the lecture or you may hate the subject for the rest of you life. It is a fight students have to take with topics that are very interesting and useful but are taught in a terrible manner.

well, it's an old story.
But the problem is that you would expect it different in faculty (it's more about self study than in highschool and a teacher shouldn't be that important) and it hits you in the fourth year that nothing actually changed.
I mean, look at me: I'm taking bioinfo this semester and it's only because of the teacher!
